MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR

At Florida Personal Management ABA therapy approach isn't just about addressing problem behaviors; it's about empowering children with the tools to succeed. In FPM, we're not just teaching skills; we're nurturing well-rounded individuals who can thrive independently and connect deeply with others, enriching their lives and the lives of those around them.
We highly regard our core values: Ethics, Genuine Solidarity, Methodical System, and Responsiveness. Our families and partners carefully crafted these values to reflect our identity and principles.
The transformative power of a well-crafted ABA curriculum is truly remarkable. It leads to tangible advancements in your child's abilities and behaviors, often surpassing what you may have initially thought possible. These strides in improvement challenge and dispel the low expectations that may have been held by teachers, family members, and other professionals involved in your child's life. ABA therapy not only sets a high bar for your child's potential but also helps them reach it, positioning them for success in life. Moreover, as your child's functionality and independence grow through ABA therapy, both you and your child experience a profound sense of empowerment and satisfaction. This enhanced quality of life is a testament to the positive impact of ABA therapy on the individual and the entire support network surrounding them. It's a journey that reshapes expectations and fosters boundless possibilities for the future. Let us accompany you!
Sincerely,
Leonardo Chacon, LCSW-QS, MCAP, BCBA

ABA therapy it's backed by the American Psychological Association and U.S. Surgeon General as an evidence-based practice. ABA therapy targets skills such as communication, social, and motor skills. It's been studied for over 40 years and has proven successful in improving skills and reducing problem behaviors. Caregiver training is also available to help parents and caregivers implement ABA techniques outside of one-to-one sessions.

There are more than 25 diagnoses that can benefit from ABA therapy. Some of the most common ones are:

Sample Behaviors We Can Help With

Our ABA therapy improves social skills, allowing children to communicate, collaborate and share with their peers and others, with the ultimate goal of creating lasting and meaningful relationships. We help build the competencies that lead to greater degrees of independence—and that can help your child thrive.

Communication: With ABA therapy, children build communication skills, such as initiating and holding conversation, and other ways of social interaction.

Social/Emotional Skills: A few social skills that can be difficult for children on the spectrum, and that ABA therapy can help with, are understanding social cues, following rules and taking turns.

Adaptive Daily Life Skills: ABA therapy progressively builds independence, working on skills such as safety awareness, toilet training, executive functioning and, for older individuals, skills that help with job competence.

Reducing Problem Behaviors: Children on the spectrum can exhibit a number of problem behaviors that ABA therapy works to reduce, over time, such as difficulty with following rules or directions, tantrums, self-injury or aggression.
